Digitus Biometrics, a global provider of data center access control solutions, announced today the release of db DualLock, the industry’s first access control swing-lock that enables dual-factor authentication at the cabinet door. The product combines the power of advanced fingerprint biometrics with the latest innovations in RFID smartcard technology.

In addition to simplified integration with 3rd-party access control management (ACM) platforms, db DualLock can scale to accommodate an unlimited number of users. By storing up to three fingerprint templates on the RFID card, including the “duress” template option, the need to upload templates or Personally Identifiable Information directly to the device is eliminated. This unique security feature requires users to dual-authenticate with something they have (their card) as well as with something they are (their fingerprint), thereby verifying in real-time their fingerprint biology with their enrolled fingerprint template residing in the card.

db DualLock also features the latest generation of RFID smartcard technology, including the latest iClass card format that enables advanced anti-counterfeiting features and encryption capabilities. And of course, db DualLock handles elegantly integrate with existing Digitus technology, like db Bus and db Sentry systems, so existing customers now have more options when adding or retrofitting racks, or integrating into their ACM platform.
