Edible Nutmeg—Connecticut’s Regional Food Magazine—is Re-launching Under the Direction of New Publisher Dana Jackson

Since 2006, Edible Nutmeg has been Connecticut’s source for information about regional food, farming, sustainability, and the local communities that support it. New owner and publisher Dana Jackson prepares to re-launch the magazine with a focus on Fairfield, Litchfield, and New Haven counties.

As a Litchfield County resident and long-time farmer in the area, I’ve seen how important and useful the magazine is to Connecticut’s food communities. More than anything, I’m looking forward to collaborating with and serving this community.

After a short absence, Edible Nutmeg is preparing to return to Connecticut and continue its informed coverage of all-things local and food related. New owner and publisher Dana Jackson takes over from Robert Lockhart to bring Edible Nutmeg back with a geographic shift in focus to the state’s western counties of Fairfield, Litchfield, and New Haven.

“I’m pleased and excited to re-launch Edible Nutmeg in Connecticut,” says publisher Dana Jackson, “As a Litchfield County resident and long-time farmer in the area, I’ve seen how important and useful the magazine is to Connecticut’s food communities. More than anything, I’m looking forward to collaborating with and serving this community.”

Dana Jackson has worked as a farmer, teacher, sports instructor, consultant, and park ranger. He holds a B.A. in English from U.C.L.A. and a M.A. in English from San Diego State University.

Known for its photography, knowledgeable editorial, and exceptional print quality, Edible Nutmeg helps readers engage the food community of Connecticut. Farmers and fishermen, bakers and chefs, gardeners and beekeepers, cooks and connoisseurs all have a place within its pages.

Issue #27, Winter 2015, is scheduled for release the week of 11/16 and will be available to the public for free. Edible Nutmeg can be found in restaurants and cafes, grocery stores, farmers’ markets, bookstores, retail shops, fitness centers, hotels, and resorts throughout western Connecticut. Subscribers help support Edible Nutmeg’s mission and receive early delivery of each issue for $28 per year.
