From the very beginning, the leaders of this hospital wanted technology to provide the glue to create a seamless care experience

Top Tier Consulting (T2C), a premier healthcare management consulting firm providing world class consulting for major healthcare organizations, proudly announces its successful collaboration with hospital leadership to launch the state of the art Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital (MLKCH) in South Los Angeles. Designed to support the hospital's vision of innovation and community-focused healthcare, T2C was contracted to help define the IT strategy and support implementation of the application portfolio and technology infrastructure. T2C worked with the newly hired executive team, from the very beginning, to help bring high quality health care to a medically underserved community.

T2C was a key partner in realizing the vision for an integrated hospital. "From the very beginning, the leaders of this hospital wanted technology to provide the glue to create a seamless care experience.” said Brad Armstrong, Senior Partner at T2C. "Not only internally through connected devices, but externally to the community. We wanted to change the way people think of hospitals and to extend the use of the electronic health record as a basis for providing continuous care, even outside of the hospital.

Community health and access to services were enhanced by the comprehensive IT strategy and technical expertise of T2C, extending well beyond the architecture and data-center buildout and into the connected-care wellness of the MLKCH population. The connectivity that supports health care access and initiatives is based on the high-density wireless and managed wired networks created by T2C, and on the relationships developed with vendors and other MLKCH community stakeholders.

"At MLK, we had a vision for a new hospital that would use technology to provide an enhanced patient care experience and attract top talent in the medical field," added Sajid Ahmed, the hospital’s Chief Information and Innovation Officer. "We took that as our number one goal, because this is such an underserved community, and we wanted to use technology to make a difference in the lives of the people who live here. T2C helped to us meet that challenge."

The opening of the new MLKCH was celebrated with a formal dedication held on August 7.
