Since being released in selected markets, THE PRINCIPLE has been amazing audiences and gaining a grassroots fanbase despite the opposition of influential and outspoken critics who have been determined to prevent the film’s release. Despite their efforts, The Principle, now available on DVD, Blu-ray and streaming, so anyone can experience the film and ask the question “Am I significant?”
By showcasing surprising results from recent large-scale surveys of our universe, The Principle exposes scientific evidence of the significance of the Earth in the cosmos. Scientific evidence that life is important. Scientific evidence of a Creator. Scientific evidence that we are not a mistake or an accident.
It appears that simply asking questions about the Copernican Principle is enough to cause many leading scientists to get uncomfortable. In the 15th and 16th century, Copernicus suggested that Earth is not in any privileged or central position in the universe. This concept changed science and physics for centuries, but new discoveries are suggesting that perhaps ancient thoughts were actually correct.
“We just have to ask why this film has created such an extreme reaction from these scientists who are supposed to be the leaders in free speech, free thought and freedom to ask questions,” explains Writer and Producer Rick DeLano. “It is apparent that our film has touched a nerve, and many in the science community are uncomfortable with what The Principle uncovers.”
To support today’s release of The Principle, the film’s creators have created two free additional products to help viewers understand the significance of the pressure to keep the film from releasing to the general public.
Today, the “5 Things You Need to Know Before Viewing The Principle” video launches, a 1-minute feature highlighting the key questions asked in the film. These questions are:
- “What if I told you that Earth occupies a special place in the Cosmos?”
- “What if I told you that Earth’s location in the Cosmos has been purposely hidden from you? Don’t you want to know why?”
- ”What if I told you that the smartest, most popular scientists of the past century admit that the Earth seems to be in the center of the universe?”
- “You probably believe that the earth revolves around the sun in the same way you believe that 2+2=4. However, what if I told you this has never actually been proven?”
- “What if I told you that your significance as a person is directly related to Earth’s special placement in the Cosmos?”
Next is an equally compelling 20-minute documentary short that breaks down the conspiracy to discredit The Principle. Much like the “thoughtcrimes” from George Orwell’s iconic 1984, THOUGHTCRIME simply asks why science fears the discovery of the significance of man. Why does science not want us to ask questions? What did The Principle uncover that they are afraid of?
"The question of our place in the cosmos is the greatest scientific detective story in all of the history," explains DeLano. "The world has been shaped by two great assertions - one places us in the center of it all and the other one relegates us to utter insignificance. The Principle is the first documentary that has dared to examine this persistent puzzle at the heart of modern science."
The Principle explores the significance of the Earth's place within the Cosmos. Tracing the development of cosmology from its inception (Stonehenge, the Great Pyramid at Giza), through the great revolution of Copernicus, to the astonishing new discoveries of Earth-oriented alignments in the largest structures of our observable universe, The Principle leads us face-to-face with the question, and the challenge - are we significant within the structure of the Universe? If we were created with a purpose, if we aren’t an accident, what does this mean for the future of mankind?
Featuring narration by Kate Mulgrew (Star Trek Voyager, Orange Is The New Black and Ryan’s Hope), visual animations by BUF Compagnie Paris (Game of Thrones, Life of Pi, Thor, Harry Potter, Avatar), and commentary from prominent scientists including George Ellis, Michio Kaku, Julian Barbour, Lawrence Krauss, and Max Tegmark, The Principle was written and produced by Rick DeLano through his Stellar Motion Pictures, LLC and was directed by Katheryne Ktee Thomas of In Ohm Entertainment. Executive Producer is Robert Sungenis.
