MarySue, along with co-hosts Ray Hansell and Gregory Hansell spoke to author Janice Kaplan about her book, The Gratitude Diaries, which details her year of living gratefully. She told listeners how committing to gratitude gave her one of the best years of her life. “What a gift I had that I got to live for a whole year and spend every day thinking about gratitude,” said Kaplan. She explains how anyone can use the same approach to better appreciate and enjoy their own lives.
Ray, MarySue, and Gregory also talked with acclaimed filmmaker Louie Schwartzberg about his film series, Gratitude Revealed, which takes viewers on an unprecedented visual journey into the pursuit of gratitude. Schwartzberg discussed his inspiration for the series and how he hopes it will inspire viewers to live better, more grateful lives.
Dr. Robert Emmons joined the co-hosts to discuss his book, Gratitude Works! Emmons is considered the leading scientific expert on gratitude. He explains to listeners how gratitude can make them happier, healthier, and more fulfilled. “It strengthens our connections to other people and magnifies the goodness in our lives,” said Emmons.
The final guest in the Gratitude Series is Dr. Emiliana Simon-Thomas from the Greater Good Science Center. Simon-Thomas discussed fascinating research on gratitude being done at the center and talked about its efforts to make gratitude more mainstream.
