Hailed as the “Internet’s highest honor” by The New York Times, The Webby Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet. IADAS, which nominates and selects The Webby Award Winners, is comprised of web industry experts, including Tumblr founder, David Karp, Grantland’s Bill Simmons, Lucky Magazine’s Editor-in-chief, Eva Chen, Instagram co-founder, Kevin Systrom, mobile phone inventor Martin Cooper, and creator of the .gif file format, Steve Wilhite.
The Distiller app is available on iOS and Android and was developed for the novice, adventurous and discerning whisky lovers to explore their personal tastes and learn more about the craft, history, culture and world of whiskey, while connecting with others of like-mind. It is the only app to offer personalized whiskey recommendations based on flavor preference, expertise level, drinking environment, price and other criteria. Winners will be announced on Monday, April 27, 2015 and honored at a star-studded ceremony hosted by acclaimed comedian Hannibal Buress on Monday, May 18, 2015 at Cipriani on Wall Street in New York City. There they will have an opportunity to deliver one of The Webby Awards’ famous 5-Word Speeches. Past 5-Word Speeches include: Steve Wilhite’s “It’s Pronounced “Jif” not ‘Gif’; Stephen Colbert’s “Me.
