Allen J Carlson Joins MEC Board of Directors

Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. (MEC) today announced that Allen J. Carlson was elected to the company’s board of directors.

Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. (MEC) today announced that Allen J. Carlson was elected to the company’s board of directors. Carlson recently announced his plans to retire at the end of March, 2016 from his role as President & CEO of Sun Hydraulics Corporation while continuing as a member of their Board after a successful 20 year career, including 15 years as CEO. Sun Hydraulics Corporation is a leading designer and manufacturer of hydraulic valves and manifolds for worldwide industrial and mobile markets.

Kamphuis, chairman, president and CEO of MEC. “Al has a track record of achieving operational excellence through unique people and process skills which will blend well with MEC’s ESOP culture and value added process leadership. I look forward to having him share his experiences as a member of our board,” Kamphuis continued.

Mr. Carlson originally joined Sun Hydraulics in 1996 to lead the company’s sales and marketing efforts. In May 2000, after additional successes with responsibilities in product development and manufacturing operations were achieved, he was elected President, CEO and a board member of Sun Hydraulics. Prior to joining Sun Hydraulics, Carlson served in various engineering, product management and sales assignments for Vickers, Incorporated for nearly 20 years. Carlson is a graduate of the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) and the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. He also serves on the board of Tervis Tumbler, is a regent at MSOE and is actively involved with Junior Achievement serving on local and regional boards.
