We've always known we can count on GovX to supply our members with outstanding gear and support— but it's great to know all the GovX members have our backs as well.
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) January 14, 2016
GovX, the online shopping site exclusively for current and former military and first responders, announced Team Rubicon as January’s winner of the Mission Giveback program. The monthly program allows GovX members to vote on four different service-related causes, foundations, or nonprofits performing work or support among military, first responder, and/or law enforcement communities. Whichever cause tallies the most votes receives a portion of GovX proceeds from all orders placed in the following month.
When voting concluded in December, Team Rubicon garnered the most votes from GovX members. Founded by US Marines William McNulty and Jacob Wood, Team Rubicon is a non-government disaster response organization which brings the skills and experiences of US military veterans and first responders to bear to rapidly deploy to disaster zones around the world. Formed in 2010, the team’s first mission was to Haiti after the disastrous earthquake struck the country in January of that year. The organization counts over 30,000 members nationwide, and has deployed to over 100 responses since their inception.
"We're honored to have been selected as the January Mission Giveback recipient,” said Mike Lee, Marketing Officer for Team Rubicon. “With over 32,000 veterans and first responders in our ranks, we've always known we can count on GovX to supply our members with outstanding gear and support— but it's great to know all the GovX members have our backs as well."
“Supporting the important mission of Team Rubicon means a lot to us. Their disaster response efforts make a difference all over the world, like so many of our members do every day,” said Eric McCue, CEO of GovX. “Plus, it’s incredible that the men and women who comprise their team often recapture the sense of duty and purpose they experience during their various service-related careers.”
