Allison Janney Joins Best Friends Animal Society's "I Saved My Best Friend" Campaign

Please remember to adopt, don’t shop. And if you’re not able to bring an animal permanently into your home, please consider fostering or volunteering.

Seven-time Emmy winner Allison Janney from the CBS sitcom “Mom,” is joining with Best Friends Animal Society, the only national animal welfare organization dedicated to ending the killing of dogs and cats in our nation’s shelters, to encourage people to become part of the solution.

“The work that Best Friends has done for the far too many animals in need has been nothing short of amazing,” Janney said. “Through their strategy, coordination and outreach I believe we will see a day when we can save animals from senseless deaths in overcrowded shelters. Please remember to adopt, don’t shop. And if you’re not able to bring an animal permanently into your home, please consider fostering or volunteering. Your life will be better for it.”

According to national statistics, each day more than 9,000 dogs and cats die in the nation’s shelters. Best Friends has brought increased awareness to how people can get involved in the solution by adopting, and spaying/neutering their pets, donating, volunteering and sharing this message with their friends.

Janney, who is also known for her work in “Masters of Sex,” “The Help,” “Juno,” “The Way, Way Back” and “The West Wing” joins Danny Trejo, Carrie Ann Inaba, Denise Richards, Nils Lofgren, Josef Newgarden, Amanda Seyfried, Cecily Strong, Maggie Q, Elisabeth Rohm, Lisa Edelstein, Tricia Helfer, Emmy Rossum, Michelle Beadle, Jack and Suzy Welch, Mike Rowe ‎among other luminaries ‎participating in Best Friends’ photo campaign featuring celebrities posed with their personal rescued dogs and/or cats in support of the Save Them All ‎call to action.
