Over the next two decades this solar installation will achieve our energy reduction goals, while saving the association more than $1-million, money that can be reinvested into promoting music and music education around the world.

Local solar firm, Sullivan Solar Power, recently installed a solar photovoltaic system at National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM)'s headquarters in Carlsbad, Calif. Six solar carport structures were installed to not only provide shade for vehicles, but also to eliminate 73 percent of the organization’s energy needs.

Sullivan Solar Power designed and installed 714 locally manufactured Kyocera solar panels to assist NAMM in achieving their clean energy goals. The 235,950-Watt solar power system will provide the organization an annual savings of $56,000.

“Reducing expenses at the industry headquarters allows us to direct more resources toward achieving our vision, mission and objectives,” said Joe Lamond, president and CEO of the National Association of Music Merchants, “Over the next two decades this solar installation will achieve our energy reduction goals, while saving the association more than $1-million, money that can be reinvested into promoting music and music education around the world.”

The installation will provide local greenhouse gas reduction benefits, offsetting 5,710 tons of emission pollutions over the next 25 years. To further promote environmental responsibility through clean technology, Sullivan Solar Power also installed a dual station car charger for electric vehicles.

“Assisting NAMM in saving money to better support their programs and members, is extremely rewarding,” said Daniel Sullivan, founder and president of Sullivan Solar Power, “The organization is able to make a greater worldwide impact, not just with music, but also a clean energy future.”
