By providing security awareness training that drives real, immediate employee behavior change, Security Mentor, will greatly improve the security of Wyoming's information infrastructure and economy moving forward

Security Mentor, a pioneer of innovative security awareness training that drives real behavior change, today announced that the State of Wyoming has selected the company to provide end-user training for its more than 10,000 state government employees. Utilizing Security Mentor’s award-winning approach, the State of Wyoming will benefit from brief, interactive, engaging lessons that will make Wyoming state government employee education more effective and memorable.

"Security Mentor has allowed Wyoming to implement a very user friendly and near automated solution to meet our security awareness needs,” said Rick Imbrogno, Information Security Officer, Wyoming Department of Enterprise Technology Services.

Enhancing the cyber security awareness of State of Wyoming employees coincides well with the State’s focus on cybersecurity in general. At the recent Wyoming Broadband Summit, a group of cybersecurity experts urged state officials and business leaders to stay vigilant against the growing threat of hackers. In fact, cyber security ranks high on the list of concerns for Wyoming citizens. According to Google’s Keyword Planner, compared to other states, Wyoming residents have the most frequent per capita searches for the term ‘cyber security’. Furthermore, Wyoming state lawmakers are considering a bill requiring state agencies to "enforce and maintain a policy regarding the collection, access, security and use of data." This would include requiring employee training and state officials to put in place processes to identify and respond to security breaches.

“We are excited to be partnering with the State of Wyoming to provide cutting-edge security awareness training that employees love to take,” said Craig Kunitani, COO and CTO, Security Mentor. “Everyone plays an important role in securing cyberspace. By providing security awareness training that drives real, immediate employee behavior change, Security Mentor, will greatly improve the security of Wyoming's information infrastructure and economy moving forward.”

Security Mentor’s Federated Single Sign-on also makes it easy for Wyoming employees to take training. As part of the implementation, the State of Wyoming connected their existing Google Apps-based identity management to Security Mentor's training services via Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) 2.0. This eliminates another set of credentials for users to remember and, if they are already signed into Google Apps, authentication to the training on the Security Mentor website is automatic.

Security Mentor’s security awareness training drives real, immediate employee behavior change by combining engaging, highly interactive training with content-rich lessons that convey critical security information. The company’s groundbreaking “Brief, Frequent and Focused®” training model maximizes learning and keeps security top-of-mind. Recently expanded gamification capabilities add rewards for training accomplishments, and increase employee participation and engagement through friendly competition.
