Once people become aware of a habit or a thought pattern that isn't working for them, they have the opportunity to change it. In other words, they can unlearn it.

George Bernard Shaw once said, "Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything." As the Founder of the School of Unlearning and a global futurist, Jack Uldrich takes this sentiment to heart.
Uldrich, who's newest book, "Win the Future: The Big AHA" which is set to be published later this year, delivers keynotes and workshops on change management and future proofing all over the world. One of his key concepts in embracing change is learning to unlearn.
"The core principal in unlearning starts with a change of mind", says Uldrich. "It starts with awareness. Once people become aware of a habit or a thought pattern that isn't working for them, they have the opportunity to change it. In other words, they can unlearn it."
In order to unlearn things Uldrich says one must also possess a sense of humility. "It isn't always easy to give up old habits, or mindsets, more often than not, those habits which need to shift are deeply embedded and a) are not working; b) other people can see they aren't working, and c) it's going to take time and effort to shift them. Each of those things requires some humility. Ultimately it takes sheer discipline to shift old, ineffective habits; it requires action.
And that is Uldrich's "Big AHA." Awareness, Humility and Action. He touches on the concept in most of his keynotes these days.
Uldrich began the month yesterday delivering a keynote to the Recreational Vehicle Industry Assoc (RVIA), at the Dove Mountain Resort in Arizona
He will deliver 3 more keynotes across the US including:
March 3: Farm Credit Bank of Texas | Hilton Head, SC
March 21: HARDI Marketing & Sales Meeting | San Diego, CA
March 28: Leading Manufacturing Firm | Phoenix, AZ
While Uldrich is clear about the fact that no one can predict the future; he does help his clients help prepare for it.
Uldrich is a leading futurist, author, and speaker who helps organizations gain the critical foresight they need to create a successful future. In his sessions, Uldrich will share the content from his most recent book, “Business as Unusual: How to Future-Proof Yourself Against Tomorrow’s Transformational Trends, Today” and outline ten trends transforming businesses. He will also identify a series of concrete actions people can take today in order to embrace the "Big AHA" and future-proof business leaders and their organizations against “the tides of tomorrow.”
