Choose10, a financial data and analysis firm, polled over 5,000 American consumers and identified 215 Apple Watch users. Based on the purchasing patterns of these consumers, Apple Watch sales increased 244% in December of 2015 and 140% in the Fourth Quarter of 2015. Almost 46% of all Apple Watches so far have been given as gifts, causing a Christmas surge in Apple Watch sales. Preliminary data from January and February 2016 shows continued strong sales. Excluding gifts and early pre-orders of Apple Watches, sales are now running at approximately double their post launch rate. Fully 68% of users report that the Apple Watch battery runs out at least once per week; however, 90% of users are happy with the Apple Watch. The surveys indicate the Apple Watch is most commonly being used as a complement to the iPhone. Users want the convenience of being able to see email and text without reaching for their smartphone.
