It's exciting because we now have something to meet everybody's needs. Not just whatever we need for the patient's particular comfort level, but the type of specialty MRI the doctors need to make a better diagnosis.

On Jan. 20, 2016, Radiology Affiliates Imaging installed three new high-tech MRI machines that will further enhance the quality of imaging they offer.

MRI machines are radiation-free, extremely safe, and a crucial part of diagnosing a multitude of conditions. By obtaining these three new MRI machines, Radiology Affiliates Imaging is now able to meet the unique needs of every patient, including children, obese individuals, and those who suffer from claustrophobia.

"It's exciting because we now have something to meet everybody's needs. Not just whatever we need for the patient's particular comfort level, but the type of specialty MRI the doctors need to make a better diagnosis," said Dr. Eric Bosworth, President of Radiology Affiliates Imaging. "The doctors at Radiology Affiliates Imaging are extremely dedicated to having the best imaging equipment possible for the best diagnosis."

Among the company's newest offerings is the new High Field MRI machine, which was added to their Lawrenceville location. This machine is a high-field, short-bore MRI, which means that it is much wider and more comfortable for bigger patients.

The Lawrenceville location now offers a new Open MRI as well. Since the machine is open throughout the entire surface, it removes the fear of claustrophobia that some people experience inside MRI machines.

At the company's Hamilton office, an Extremity MRI machine was added, which is ideal for examining legs, arms, fingers, and toes. Since it feels just like sitting in a dental chair, children can now sit on their parent's lap while getting an MRI.

Bosworth added that the physicians of RAI are dedicated to providing the best imaging services possible, which is why the company has invested in these state-of-the-art machines. Radiology Affiliates Imaging has been doing outpatient imaging for more than 40 years, and they constantly strive to use the best equipment available.

Last year, the company took a huge step forward by adding 3D mammography breast imaging. This is just another example of their continuous history of innovation, which began when they were the first company to switch from analog to digital MRIs. With these most recent technological advances, Radiology Affiliates Imaging has yet again set the precedent for other imaging centers. Now, every patient in need of an MRI can do so in comfort, regardless of their age, size, or nervousness.
