“Attracting and retaining the ideal candidate makes all the difference in the family achieving their long term objectives.”
Chicago, Il (PRWEB) March 15, 2016
Mack International LLC, the premier family office/wealth management retained executive search and consulting services firm, announced that the firm’s Founder and President Linda C. Mack was invited to be a featured panelist at the 11th Annual LIDO Family Office Investment Symposium (FOIS), February 29-March 2 at The Loews Hotel, Santa Monica, Calif. The symposium offered family members, family office executives and advisors a unique opportunity to discuss essential issues, share ideas and gain access to the latest information that will help them make informed decisions. A series of presentations and addresses by special guest speakers on diverse topics included the current investment climate, the domestic and global political scene, latest environmental issues, risk management and challenges pertaining to family office administration.
Mack spoke at a closed-door, Private Family Office roundtable panel as one of eight seasoned experts in the area of Family Offices moderated by Greg Kushner, founder and president of Lido Consulting. The popular session allowed participants to communicate candidly amongst themselves, their challenges and success stories. The panel of experts shared current, relevant observations and trends in their respective areas of expertise, and facilitated an open discussion with the audience in subsequent breakout sessions. Three main areas of interest were covered – investing, family office administration and governance.
Linda Mack’s subject focused on winning the race for talent within a Family Office. “Recruiting and retaining the right leadership talent is critical for the success and sustainability of a Family Office.” Mack cited the key reasons why family offices searches often fail and described a process by which costly mistakes can be avoided. “At Mack International we are proponents of having a well-conceived plan wherein both the position and the culture requirements are clearly defined. It is the optimal path to take to identify and assess a potential candidate.” Linda shared her proven proprietary best practice model to identify, assess and hire leadership talent. “The process we developed gets it right the first time, every time.” She also covered how to design a platform for success and retention of the candidate hired. “A commitment and plan to onboard, motivate and retain talent is equally important,” she remarked. If you buy a beautiful flowering plant but don’t provide the food, water and light it needs to bloom, it will die”. Mack shared several stories to amplify successes and frequent missteps that came with a high price. She also shared trends she is seeing in the market.
The audience left with a deeper understanding of how to effectively engage great talent. “Whether a family does it themselves or enlists the help of an outside professional, it is critically important to plan and execute a well thought out process,” said Linda. “Attracting and retaining the ideal candidate makes all the difference in the family achieving their long term objectives.”
