The Pennsylvania State University has successfully deployed Propel™, an asset performance management solution for IBM Maximo customers from Cohesive Solutions. The rollout of Propel™ to over 60 users, including executives, managers and supervisors, offers Penn State exciting new capabilities to better manage their capital assets and continuous improvement initiatives. These capabilities significantly enhance the Maximo enterprise asset management value proposition to Penn State by providing visibility into the organization’s performance and enabling them to align their work processes with strategic objectives established to help achieve their desired performance goals.
“We are excited to be a trusted partner with Penn State for this strategic endeavor. The project encompasses Work Execution, Asset Reliability, and Inventory Management; it will soon deliver capabilities enabling Financial as well as Safety & Regulatory Compliance performance insight,” says Anthony Honaker, Vice President of Product Strategy and Development at Cohesive Solutions.
“The PSU Office of Physical Plant believes that the rollout of Propel™ will better enable our facilities management functions to improve overall asset reliability and performance. Propel™ enables us to see and measure our performance in a variety of ways that harnesses existing data from within our EAM system. The additional functionality of aligning measures with strategic objectives, and the ability to implement events and initiatives in support of improving these measures, is a benefit of Propel™ that we intend to fully utilize,” says Greg Andersen, Assistant Director, Maintenance Programs & Services at PSU.
The project launched in late August 2015, and within weeks the university’s core team was using Propel™ to deliver value and immediate insight into their operations. Propel accelerates time-to-value by leveraging a preconfigured Maximo adapter and a process-centric data model. The recent user expansion represents a phased approach to introducing Propel™ across the entire Office of the Physical Plant, which manages an array of responsibilities from energy generation to building maintenance. Cohesive looks forward to helping PSU expand the footprint of the Propel™ solution and the savings it will bring to the university.
