The new members are Michael Dudzik, VP of Science and Technology at Lockheed Martin, and Ross Finlay, co-founder and Director of the First Angel Network (FAN).
Solace has also re-appointed 4 board members including Ret Col. Peter Newell, Managing Director of BMNT Partners, and former Director of the US Army Rapid Equipping Force.
Michael Dudzik brings over 30 years of experience in the defense and automotive markets. At Lockheed Martin, Michael focuses on bringing innovative defense technologies into the company to improve their competitive advantage. Prior to his time at Lockheed Martin, Michael was Director of ERIM International’s Automotive and Transportation Centre, while there, he oversaw the research and commercialization of new automotive technologies such as vehicle-based data acquisition systems, vehicle navigation systems, and advanced safety systems. He continues to consult with companies in the automotive market.
Ross has a very long history in financial services and has assisted many technology companies in raising private equity. Ross sits on the board of the National Angel Capital Organization (NACO), is the Director of the Angel Capital Association (ACA) and a Trustee of the Angel Resource Institute.

Ross Finlay, a Co-founder and Director of the First Angel Network Association has been an angel investor since 2000. He has assisted many companies in raising private equity, is a Board Member of the National Angel Capital Organization (NACO), Director of the Angel Capital Association (ACA), and a Trustee of the Angel Resource Institute. Mr. Finlay is a recognized facilitator, senior business consulting professional and strategic change consultant who has an extensive background in public, private and not-for-profit sectors. He has implemented major business changes in a number of organizations and has experience in conducting organizational reviews in the public/private and the not-for-profit sectors. He has extensive business networks throughout Atlantic Canada. He has been Executive Director of a provincial professional association and President of a national consulting company working with scientific, engineering and technical areas. Since his move home to Nova Scotia, Ross has managed his own successful consulting practice. He returned to the corporate world for a time with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and Solution Inc Ltd. – a Halifax based software development company. In 2002 Ross was a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Medal for outstanding community service through his efforts in numerous charities.
Michael C. Dudzik serves as Vice President, Science & Technology Washington Operations at Lockheed Martin. He is an industry executive with extensive engineering design, development and manufacturing experience. Mr. Dudzik is nationally recognized for his expertise in bringing new technology-based products to market. Michael previously held leadership positions at Texas Instruments, ERIM Automotive and Georgia Technological University. He is a former Brigadier General in the United States Air Force Reserve with assignments in advanced technology, system development, and space operations. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics at University of Detroit, a Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering from Ohio State University, and a Master of Business Administration from University of Dallas. He has been active on University and Small Business advisory boards, including: the University of Michigan, Florida State University and the University of Detroit Mercy. He is an SAE Fellow and a Registered Professional Engineer.
