San Antonio, Texas (PRWEB) April 12, 2016
Public infrastructure has become a hot target for hackers and terrorists alike as illustrated by the New York Dam hack, making cybersecurity a top priority for these institutions. Infocyte, a provider of malware hunt technology, announced today that customer VIA Metropolitan Transit (VIA) will present a case study on the findings of their Compromise Assessment using Infocyte at the 2016 TransITech Conference April 10-13 in San Diego, California.
In the face of increasing cyber risks to public infrastructure from hackers, VIA took steps to understand their current security posture and assess the need for more advanced security measures and investments. VIA used a Compromise Assessment with Infocyte to scan and validate the integrity of each network endpoint and identify any unauthorized access or infections by malware. Infocyte’s scan results enabled VIA to identify issues quickly and remediate identified potential security gaps, thereby avoiding critical risk.
“Working with Infocyte, we were able to quickly identify previously unknown threats in our system. The visibility Infocyte gave us is invaluable for protecting our networks, helping us ensure our transit network operates smoothly and keep passengers safe,” said Steve Young, VIA’s Vice President of Information Technology.
Infocyte is designed specifically to detect if malware is present on the network. It scans and detects the post-intrusion activity, active or dormant, of attackers who have successfully evaded an organization’s real-time defenses and established a beachhead within the network. It reduces the Breach Detection Gap - the time that exists between infection and discovery - denying attackers the ability to persist, restoring trust in a network’s health.
