Tarkett Expands Range of Flooring Industry’s Most Complete Offering of Products Certified by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America
SOLON, Ohio (PRWEB) April 13, 2016 -- Tarkett, the worldwide leader in innovative and sustainable flooring and sports surface solutions, announces today, their Acczent and Ruby heterogeneous flooring products are now CERTIFIED asthma & allergy friendly™ by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA). Acczent and Ruby join a number of other Tarkett lines that are currently CERTIFIED asthma & allergy friendly™. Tarkett is the first flooring manufacturer to receive certification from the AAFA for multiple flooring products, for both commercial and residential applications.
“We are thrilled to have our heterogeneous flooring products certified by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America,” Diane Martel, Vice President of Environmental Planning and Strategy for Tarkett North America explains. “The health and well-being of the people that use our products is of the upmost importance from installation, to maintenance and ongoing use. This certification reflects our commitment to creating products that contribute to healthier environments at every stage of the product life cycle.”
As an independent, third-party certification program, the asthma & allergy friendly™ certification helps consumers identify products that are scientifically proven to be more suitable for people with asthma and related allergic sensitivities. Certified flooring products are scientifically tested to prove that they have a low capacity for retention of allergens, and any allergens collected can be removed by the recommended cleaning techniques. Going beyond the composition and cleaning process, installation of certified flooring must not result in elevated levels of chemicals such as formaldehyde, acetaldehyde or other VOCs.
The newly certified products include: Ruby vinyl sheet, Acczent Heterogeneous vinyl sheet and the 2015 breakthrough product, Acczent Flourish. Tarkett offers CERTIFED asthma & allergy friendly™ products for every space including commercial, light commercial, sports flooring and residential, meeting the needs of every market. Other certified product in the Tarkett portfolio include:
