Hylanders for Hylanders was created by employees for employees and is reflective of the principles and core values that have guided our company for 25 years
Cleveland (PRWEB) April 13, 2016
Hyland, creator of OnBase, today announced its newest program, Hylanders for Hylanders, an employee-funded emergency assistance program that provides financial relief to colleagues in need.
Partnering with the Emergency Assistance Foundation to administer the program, Hylanders for Hylanders allows employees to donate funds to help colleagues who have experienced a devastating event resulting in personal or financial hardship. Employees who meet program criteria can apply for a grant through the Hylanders for Hylanders website to help alleviate some of the financial burden experienced from unexpected hardships.
“Our employees never cease to amaze me with their compassion, generosity and empathy for others,” said Bill Priemer, president and CEO at Hyland. “Hylanders for Hylanders was created by employees for employees and is reflective of the principles and core values that have guided our company for 25 years.”
The idea for the fund stemmed from a post to ‘Innovation City’, an internal forum for curating new ideas and programs at Hyland. The post, which asked how employees could provide support to a colleague who had suffered a personal setback, generated a lot of positive feedback. Soon the employee who submitted the idea, Evan Scharfeld, was working with Hyland’s HR department to develop and implement a program that could provide such assistance to those in need.
“When one of your coworkers has experienced a devastating event or health issue, it affects every part of their life, including their work,” said Evan Scharfeld, team leader of quality assurance at Hyland. “It’s nice to think about the impact this fund will provide to employees when they most need it, scaling the organic giving that already happens at Hyland.”
Hyland’s executive team has individually contributed seed funding for this initiative. In addition, the company will annually match employee contributions up to ten thousand dollars.
