GetApp’s updated ranking of the top 25 customer service apps puts Zendesk, LiveChat, and Freshdesk atop the list for Q2 2016. The marketplace for cloud-based business apps saw Zendesk get back on top after falling to 2nd place last quarter. LiveChat took the number two spot, while Freshdesk rounded out the top three for the first time since Q2 2015.
The ranking is based on five data points and is meant to provide small and mid-sized business owners with a first look at some of the leading customer service apps available in the cloud.
The data points that make up the ranking include user reviews, security, mobile app availability, media presence, and software integrations. All data points are scored out of 20 for a potential high score of 100.
“The top three category leaders were able to solidify their spots with high scores overall for each data point. Zendesk was able to reclaim the top spot with a high score of 90, thanks in part to its security score, which gave it an additional 16 points over last quarter. Similarly, Freshdesk landed in the top three thanks to an additional 18 points for its app’s security. LiveChat stayed strong with high scores overall, especially for user reviews, to remain just behind Zendesk in second place,” says Suzie Blaszkiewicz, researcher at GetApp.
