eft is happy to announce that Dynamo and transfix have both signed-up as supporters of the upcoming Disrupt Logistics Hackathon.

In an effort to help push innovation in logistics while promoting and nurturing talent in the industry, Disrupt Logistics attempts to tackle the conundrum: 'How are logistics companies going to innovate to drive business in 2016 and beyond?' That's why we’re set to bring together the brightest young talent at the industry's premier event - the 3PL Summit and Chief Supply Chain Officer Forum to hack some innovative solutions.

As supporters of the hackathon, eft will welcome Drew McElroy, CEO of Transfix and Allan Davis, MD of Dynamo to the Disrupt Logistics judging panel. They will be joining Bruce Welty, CEO, Locus Robotics, Jason Tham, CEO, Nulogy, Chris O’Brien, CCO, CH Robinson, Jett McCandless, CEO, CarrierDirect, Claudia Knowlton-Chike, SVP Supply Chain, Emerald Performance Materials and Chris Saynor, Founder of eft. Dynamo and Transfix will also be contributing prizes to the hackathon which includes mentorships, internships and cash.

"Logistics faces two major challenges right now - innovation, and attracting the best talent," said Haley Garner, Head of Research and Content, eft, "We want Disrupt Logistics to drive the solution to both these challenges forward."

Disrupt Logistics will be taking place June 20th, from 12:30-6:30 in conjunction with the 3PL Summit and Chief Supply Chain Officer Forum at Chicago’s Radisson Blu Aqua.

About Transfix

With his deep understanding of logistics, it’s no surprise Drew McElroy was raised in a trucking family; as a boy, his parents named Andrew’s Express, their trucking company, as a tribute to him. Years later, after a successful term as president of his family’s 3PL, Drew set out on his own to improve the logistics industry and bring it into the 21st century.

In 2013, Drew met Jonathan Salama, one of Gilt Groupe’s first employees. Jonathan quickly rose through Gilt’s ranks as an expert software engineer, helping to build the original infrastructure behind the world-renowned flash-sale site.

Shortly after, Drew and Jonathan officially joined forces and launched Transfix. And now, they’re driving the logistics industry forward with their game-changing approach to freight management.
