Professional Sports and the Law (PSL), an electronic magazine dedicated to the attorneys that represent professional sports teams in Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association, the National Football League, and the National Hockey League, has identified the Top Twenty Law Firms serving the professional sports teams in the four major sports leagues.
PSL, which was launched in 2010 by Hackney Publications, is distributed on a complimentary basis to team general counsel, as well as subscribed to by law firms and libraries in the public and private sector. Each issue delivers summaries of important court decisions, expert legal analysis and relevant sports law articles to readers. Hackney Publications does accept advertising in the magazine.
Publisher Holt Hackney said the Top Twenty list was put together with the help of PSL readers as well as sports law professors around the country.
“We felt like it was necessary to recognize these firms for the good work they do in the industry,” said Hackney. “We expect this to be an annual feature in the publication.”
The firms range from boutique in size to massive. Listed in alphabetical order, they are:
Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld
