Greenberg Traurig Miami Shareholder Meital Stavinsky recently spoke at the May 17 Startup Nation Conference hosted by The Idea Center at Miami-Dade College and Tel Aviv University.

Stavinsky, a shareholder in the Government Law and Policy and Israel practices, interviewed representatives of Israeli technology company Vayyar Imaging. The session focused on startup companies in the growth stage and discussed the secrets to their success.

On another panel, Stavinsky introduced Israeli technology companies Cimagine Media and SOLOMOTO. The presentations provided more insight regarding how Israeli hi-tech companies continue to provide investors with successful exit strategies.

As a sponsor of the conference, Greenberg Traurig also hosted the May 16 kickoff breakfast at the firm’s Miami office. Senior Chairman Cesar L. Alvarez and Miami Co-Managing Shareholder Jaret L. Davis each offered introductory remarks. Stavinsky interviewed Manny Medina, Founder and Managing Partner of Medina Capital, about the ongoing growth of Miami’s technology ecosystem.

The Startup Nation Conference was the result of recent collaborations between The Knight Foundation and Project Interchange, an educational institute of the American Jewish Committee, The Idea Center at Miami Dade College and Tel-Aviv University Entrepreneurship Center. A delegation of 12 Miami entrepreneurs and technology community leaders, including Greenberg Traurig’s Davis, traveled to Israel in March 2015 to learn from the country’s dynamic tech and innovation sector.

At Greenberg Traurig, Stavinsky focuses her practice on government relations. She primarily advises innovative Agtech, Cleantech and transportation solutions companies. As the coordinator of the firm’s Israel practice, Stavinsky assists Israeli companies seeking to enter the U.S. market and expand their operations. Stavinsky serves as the Co-Chair of Tel-Aviv University Alumni Association for the Southeast Region.
