The conference was highlighted by the announcement of the selection of global supply chain and logistics management expert Julius Heil as president and CEO, effective May 23, 2016, to lead the continuing transformation of the organization as a model professional healthcare supply chain company. Heil succeeds Brent Johnson, who is retiring after more than 30 years as a recognized trailblazer in leading and managing progressive supply chain organizations both inside and outside healthcare. Johnson will remain as a special advisor to Heil through July 1, 2016.

The Intalere Healthcare Achievement Awards, were the focus of a dinner event and celebration recognizing Intalere’s members and suppliers for their accomplishments. Member awardees will also be recognized through inclusion in the Intalere Best Practices Compendium, which is compiled and shared annually with the Intalere membership base.
The education sessions, keynote presentations and networking activities were capped by a keynote session by Joe Walsh, Vice President, Supply Chain & Chief Purchasing Officer for Intermountain Healthcare, issuing a “Call to Action” to supply chain professionals to continue to elevate the strategic importance of the function within their organizations and the industry.
