WHAT:
Join the festivities Wednesday, June 8, 2016, when the United States Mint will join the National Park Service (NPS) to launch the America the Beautiful Quarters® Program coin honoring Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. The event starts at 10 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) at Lower Town (Hamilton Street along the Shenandoah River) in Harpers Ferry, WV. Following the ceremony, the public can exchange their cash for $10 rolls of newly-minted Harpers Ferry National Historical Park quarters.

The Mint will be live tweeting throughout the event using the hashtag ‪#‎HarpersFerryQTR. ‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

COIN FORUM
The United States Mint will host a coin forum the evening before the launch ceremony—6:30 to 7:30 p.m. ET Tuesday, June 7—at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, Lower Town (The Green), in Harpers Ferry, WV. The coin forum is an opportunity for members of the public to express their views about future coinage, and learn about upcoming United States Mint coin programs and initiatives.

The Harpers Ferry National Historical Park quarter is the 33rd release in the United States Mint America the Beautiful Quarters Program, a 12-year initiative to honor 56 national parks and other national sites authorized by Public Law 110-456. Each year, the public will see five new national sites depicted on the reverses (tails sides) of the America the Beautiful Quarters. The United States Mint is issuing these quarters in the order in which the national sites were officially established.
