Dr. Black’s Eye Associates welcomes laser cataract surgeon Dr. Edwin Apenbrinck to the eye care team. He is now accepting appointments in Jeffersonville, Louisville, New Albany, and Scottsburg.

Laser cataract surgeon Dr. Kris Pugh of Eye Associates says Dr. Apenbrinck will enhance their patients’ eye care experience. “Our patients are more than a set of eyes to us,” explains Dr. Pugh. “They’re family. And it’s very important to our Eye Associates team that we give our patients the timely and convenient care they need to get back to their lives and enjoy their vision. With Dr. Apenbrinck, we add yet another experienced cataract surgeon to our staff, allowing us to see and treat more patients and dedicate sufficient time to each. This helps us optimize cataract patient results and eliminate rushed appointments.”

Dr. Apenbrinck was born in St. Louis and raised in Louisville, KY. He received his undergraduate education at the University of Kentucky graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. In 2012, he graduated summa cum laude from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Before joining Dr. Black’s Eye Associates, Dr. Apenbrinck completed residency training at the University of Louisville, where he was chosen to be Chief Resident.

“Joining Dr. Black’s Eye Associates is not only a chance to work with some of the most respected names in the industry,” says Dr. Apenbrinck, “but also my chance to repay the community I grew up in. This is where I was inspired to go into eye care. I guess you could say this community gave me my vision, and now it’s my turn to protect theirs.”
