Wise Company Announces Scholarship Winners, will award $3,000 in Scholarship Funds

As part of their bi-annual essay scholarship competition, The Wise Company is pleased to announce the winners of three spring scholarships. The funds, which total $3,000, will be given based on an essay on America’s aging power grid.

The Wise Company is proud to support young adults continuing their education and applauds all applicants of the spring scholarship contest.

The Wise Company is excited that they will be awarding scholarships to three promising young scholars as part of their bi-annual scholarship essay competition.

The spring Wise Company scholarship winners are:

1st Place: Zachary Field, studying film and television production at New York University. Mr. Field will receive a $1,500 scholarship.

2nd Place: Anthony Serra, B.Sc. Biology, McGill University. He is currently working toward a MPA/MSES in Environmental Management at Indiana University. Mr. Serra will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

3rd Place: Tanian Browning, studying Kinesiology at Boise State University. Mr. Browning will receive a $500 scholarship.

Applicants were asked to submit a 600–800-word essay on the social impact of a complete failure of the aging U.S. power grid on our country, as well as what residents can do to better prepare for such a potential catastrophe. Essays were judged on originality and creativity, emotional impact, and relevance to topic. All applicants were required to carry a minimum GPA of 3.5 and provide at least one letter of recommendation.
