Steve Timberlake, SKW managing director of pipeline survey, brings more than 30 years of experience in surveying, engineering and construction to the Austin office.

Austin is really a natural fit for SKW and our growth plan in Texas.

Renowned for surveying and engineering since 1950, Shafer, Kline & Warren (SKW) announced the opening of a new office in Austin, Texas, as part of the company’s strategic growth plan.

SKW’s new office at 111 Congress Ave., Suite 400, will focus on serving the infrastructure development and energy sectors in the Austin and San Antonio markets. Steve Timberlake, SKW’s managing director of pipeline survey, will lead SKW’s Austin office.

“We believe the State of Texas, and Austin in particular, has a great future ahead of it,” said SKW CEO Ron Petering, P.E., PTOE. “Steve’s breadth and depth of experience covers private development, infrastructure development, as well as oil and gas pipelines. This perfectly complements the comprehensive suite of solutions SKW is bringing to the Austin and San Antonio markets.”

With offices in Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas, SKW’s surveying, engineering and construction services help clients make everyday life better, easier and safer through comprehensive solutions for energy and infrastructure.

“Austin is really a natural fit for SKW and our growth plan in Texas,” said Timberlake. “I am proud to call Austin home, and I am excited to lead our efforts here and serve the community’s growing needs.”

This is the most recent expansion story for SKW. In the past year, SKW launched its integrity construction services, which includes construction crews based in Tulsa and Kansas City. Additionally, SKW’s development services and infrastructure services teams have grown significantly over the past year.

“Like the City of Austin, SKW’s growth is focused on our people,” said Petering. “When we were considering where to grow, we were driven to find a place where our employees wanted to be. Austin has a great community of professionals and is an attractive place for our people to work and live.”
