OncLive® welcomes West Cancer Center, the Mid-South’s leading cancer treatment and research organization, to its Strategic Alliance Partnership program. In the new partnership, OncLive’s editorial and marketing teams will publicize important news and announcements from West Cancer Center.

Founded in Memphis, Tenn., in 1979, West Cancer Center provides patients with 17 accessible points of care throughout Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi, delivering a complete continuum of care to more than 30,000 patients annually. With a history of clinical excellence coupled with a longstanding commitment to groundbreaking research, West Cancer Center provides patients with a full-spectrum of care, including access to Phase I through Phase III clinical trials.

“We are delighted to partner with the West Cancer Center, an organization committed to providing patients with the highest quality patient-centered and personalized cancer care,” said Mike Hennessy, Jr., president of Intellisphere Oncology and Healthcare Specialty Group, part of the Plainsboro, N.J.-based Michael J. Hennessy Associates, Inc., family of businesses. “By publicizing advances in cancer treatment and research being conducted at the West Cancer Center, our goal is to motivate, encourage and inspire others.”

Mirroring this shared commitment, West Cancer Center seeks to continually innovate, research and educate in order to uncover new knowledge and understanding about cancer and the issues that affect patients and their families.

“Our mission is to provide the highest quality cancer care and clinical research throughout the cancer journey, while respecting the quality of life – physically, emotionally and spiritually,” said Lee S. Schwartzberg, MD, FACP, executive director of West Cancer Center. “Through our collaboration with OncLive’s Strategic Alliance Partnership, we will be better positioned to fulfill our mission and communicate more effectively with patients and their families, as well as reach out to our local, regional and national audiences.”

Through mutually beneficial synergies between scientists in the laboratory and physicians in the clinic, West Cancer Center is committed to providing patients with more effective treatment strategies and therapies. This commitment is strengthened through an innovative partnership with Methodist Healthcare and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, combining leaders in education, research and medical care to advance the study and treatment of cancer.
