Suzhou Tourism Launches "Life in Suzhou" Twitter Contest
SUZHOU, CHINA (PRWEB) August 15, 2016 -- Today, Suzhou Tourism launches the "Life in Suzhou" photo caption-driven contest on Twitter to support its efforts in reaching perspective North American travelers through its latest social media campaign, “A Curated Look at Suzhou’s Arts & Culture – No Visa Required,” which began in June 2016. This one-week contest is designed to educate travelers about Suzhou’s rich culture through vivid images to stir consumers’ creativity in coming up with the best photo captions.
Each day, from today until August 22, 2016, the Suzhou Tourism Twitter account will tweet out one photo depicting daily life in Suzhou and ask consumers to provide a suggested photo caption using the hashtag #lifeinsuzhou. Participants will have until 11:59pm EST each day to tweet their caption to be officially entered in the contest. The photos used throughout the contest will highlight various aspects of everyday life in Suzhou including street scenes, local foods, famous gardens, and more, all aimed at educating existing followers and prospective travelers about Suzhou’s rich culture. The contest will be simultaneously cross-promoted on Suzhou Tourism’s additional social media accounts, specifically Instagram and Facebook. The user who posts the best photo caption each day will be announced as that day’s winner at 9am EST the following day on Twitter. A total of seven winners (one each day) will win an artisan craft made in Suzhou such as a wooden fan, silk scarf, or embroidery. Winning captions and their corresponding photos will permanently live on the Suzhou Tourism website, TravelToSuzhou.com, when the contest has concluded.
The “Life in Suzhou” Twitter caption contest is the first of four online events to debut as part of the destination’s recently launched 12-month social media program. Each of the contests will aim to educate and engage users in a fun and captivating way about the elements that make up Suzhou’s local art and culture scene, allowing Suzhou Tourism to interact with consumers by focusing on vibrant imagery, engaging videos, and first hand experiences related to Suzhou’s key tourism offerings. Over the next few months, Suzhou Tourism will debut promotions on Instagram and Facebook.
