The podcast intends to keep listeners up-to-date on the latest in hospital marketing trends and give them an idea about what other marketers are doing right.

Hospital marketing agency Smith & Jones recently released a podcast aimed at helping hospitals and health systems outsmart their competitors.Brains Over Brawn features Smith & Jones President David Vener as he speaks with hospital marketers from all over the country about successful strategies and tactics.

“The podcast intends to keep listeners up-to-date on the latest in hospital marketing trends and give them an idea of what other marketers are doing right,” David Vener said. “Over the course of the year, I’ve met some pretty incredible people who have provided insights into how they manage their marketing efforts and deliver outstanding results.”

Available on their website, the first podcast features Michael Sluzar from Barnabas Health. Michael talks about his latest internal alignment campaign, which consists of 21,000 employees and multiple hospitals. He lends tips on how to align internal audiences with an umbrella brand and report results up the ladder.

The next episode features Nick Carranza of Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Nick talks to Dave about how to use different digital and social tactics to engage audiences. He also discusses how to translate sensitive topics into content that is relatable to consumers.

David also meets up with Smith & Jones Account Manager Braden Russom to discuss the latest trends in SEO and inbound content. The two exchange ideas about mobile search, and how localized and population health content can help prepare hospitals for the future.
