A great education is vital to helping Lime Connect candidates realize their dreams.

BMO Capital Markets, the investment and corporate banking arm of BMO Financial Group, will once again be “Trading it Forward” when it hosts its 12th annual Equity Through Education trading day on September 14, 2016.

BMO Capital Markets will donate the value of institutional equity trading commissions that it earns on Sept. 14, in the U.S., Canada and London, to charitable organizations that seek to improve access to education through scholarships, bursaries and other programs. BMO’s Equity Through Education targets charities that promote a more diverse workplace by offering support that helps people realize their educational ambitions by providing opportunities they might not otherwise have.

A portion of the proceeds will support BMO Capital Markets Lime Connect Equity Through Education Scholarships, which are awarded annually to university students pursuing business degrees in the U.S. and Canada who happen to have disabilities. Applications for this year's scholarship open on October 6, 2016.

"The impact that the BMO Capital Markets Lime Connect Equity Through Education Scholarships have had on our high potential students who happen to have disabilities is tremendous," said Tom Wilson, Lime Connect board chairman. "A great education is vital to helping our candidates realize their dreams, and we value this partnership with BMO Capital Markets that supports their studies."

High potential university students - and alumni - are encouraged to join The Lime Network to learn of, and apply for, a wide range of career and other opportunities with corporate partners that includes the BMO Capital Markets Lime Connect Equity Through Education Scholarship.

Equity Through Education is a charitable initiative launched in 2005 by BMO Capital Markets. To date, Equity Through Education has raised C$16.3 million (US$14.5 million). This translates into assistance to over 3,000 students through scholarships, bursaries and job search strategy forums.
