After 3 years of clinical research on the negative effects of incorrect sitting, poor posture and the negative effects of prolonged sedentary behavior on general health, The PerfectSit® is now ready for commercial sale. President of Aurora Design Max Leone shared this, “We are nothing short of thrilled with this long anticipated patent approval for The PerfectSit®. Knowing the amount of research and development that has gone into the product, it’s really satisfying to know that we are ready to get the product into the hands of the general public.”
According to WWMR Research Group, there will be a projected 100 million individuals suffering from some form of back pain by 2018. They also estimated that $23 billion will be spent on back pain by 2018. Extensive research on the negative effects of sitting have been well documented and indicate a need for the development of novel therapies that are safe and effective with fewer side effects than currently marketed products and drugs.
Leone also shared about how The PerfectSit® has been featured on the cover of Plastics Technology Magazine and underwent successful testing at a large academic research laboratory in Upstate New York utilizing Pressure Mapping, Radiographic Analysis and Surface Electromyography Analysis (EMG). “Having personally been a sufferer of low back pain due to sitting all day long at my desk, I knew we had to have quantifiable data along with bonafide relief from test users to really get this patent. And sure enough, the patent approval office saw all of our data and gave us the approval.”
Leone also went on to say, “The PerfectSit® is an engineered portable seat that can be placed on an office chair, on a couch or in a car and is meant to put the user in an optimal sitting position. Everyday spent using the product helps train the brain to be conscious of sitting posture as well as training the body's muscle memory and core structure to maintain excellent sitting alignment."
The PerfectSit® is marketed by Aurora Design, LLC and is manufactured in the U.S.A. by Currier Plastics, Inc. Currier Plastics is a 34 year old custom precision injection molding facility located in Auburn, New York.
