Everyone wants the inside scoop on fashion, and that task just became easier thanks to virtual reality. Vancouver Fashion Week is partnering with virtual reality solutions company Time Technologies to live stream its 2017 spring and summer collection. This marks the first time the Vancouver based fashion company will stream and record a fashion show in 360 virtual reality.

The entire Vancouver Fashion Week show will be live streamed and recorded using Time Technologies’ own industrial-grade VR camera. “The Vancouver Fashion Week project is a great platform on which to demonstrate what an immersive experience our virtual reality can bring to fans,” said Peng Wang, CEO and co-founder of Time Technologies. “They will feel like they’re sitting in the front row while they’re actually at home.”

Although the show will be streamed live, it will also be available to watch on Vancouver Fashion Week’s YouTube channel. Viewers can watch on their phones using a VR headset or on a laptop, desktop, or tablet. While Vancouver Fashion Week wants to deliver its show to a broader market, Time Technologies hopes the project will increase public interest in virtual reality technology.

"Virtual Reality represents the future in live experiences,” said Bernardo Brito, Vancouver Fashion Week’s photography director. “Our team is really excited to be part of the first fashion event having a virtual reality live stream, and we are proud of being partners with Time Technologies for this amazing show.”

The fashion show will live stream September 19 through 25, starting at 4:30 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.
