Peggy Smedley, editorial director of Connected World magazine, host of The Peggy Smedley Show, and founder of the Peggy Smedley Institute will keynote the 2016 Oregon Connections Telecommunications Conference in Hood River, Ore. The annual conference brings together industry leaders and professionals in telecommunications and mobile solutions to spotlight emerging trends and discuss what’s to come.

“We are excited to have Peggy Smedley join us for the twenty-first annual Oregon Connections Telecommunications Conference to explore broadband-enabled mobile applications and the impact of mobility technologies on how we live and work,” says Christopher Tamarin, telecommunications strategist, Oregon Business Development Dept.

Whether she’s on air, on stage, or in written word, Smedley’s unique voice has proven her to be an expert in the IoT and connected solutions. Smedley will kick off the two-day event on Thursday, October 20, with a special keynote that will guide guests through the past and future of the IoT. Attendees are set to gain a better understanding of the benefits, innovation, potential use cases, and growth opportunities for the IoT. Furthermore, she will explain how the IoT is creating a transformative strategy that helps improve quality, safety, and productivity.

Following her keynote, she also will join moderator, Jeff Nicol of Gorge Technology Alliance and Adecco Staffing USA, along with panelists: Steve Noel of FirstNet, Bill Plummer of Huawei Technologies, John Sherry of Intel, and Jenny Moede of Citizen, Inc., for an extended panel discussion titled, “Generation Mobility,” that will delve deep into the versatility of emerging mobile technologies and how they are changing the way we live and work.
