Gestión Frío Algeciras (GFA), acquired by AGRO Merchants Group in 2013, officially opened their new facility on September 23rd. The expansion added 13,287 pallet positions to the company’s capacity, totalling 15,611, and will support existing customers and allow the company to diversify further on temperature-controlled food products and services. The expansion also included frozen chambers with mobile racks, chilled and dual-temperature chambers. Don José Ignacio Landaluce, the mayor of Algeciras, officially opened the new facility and congratulated AGRO Merchants Group, its team and stakeholders on the outstanding initiative of creating additional value for Algeciras.
GFA announced another significant development at the opening event – their decision to start officially operating as AGRO Merchants Algeciras. Javier Rueda, Director of AGRO Merchants Algeciras, said: “We believe that our decision to operate as AGRO Merchants Algeciras will enable us to bring more opportunities to our valued customers as well as strengthen our global AGRO Merchants Group family network. We’re very excited to start this new chapter and we’re looking forward to supporting our clients future growth together.”
