I am honored and grateful to have been selected as one of the recipients of the Young Professionals of the Year Award. It is humbling that APSP has selected me for this award among so many other qualified applicants from all over the U.S.

The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals (APSP) announced the winners of the 2016 Young Professionals of the Year Award on September 19th, 2016. APSP is the world’s oldest and largest association representing swimming pool, hot tub, and spa manufacturers, distributors, manufacturers’ agents, designers, builders, installers, suppliers, retailers, and service professionals. The Young Professionals of the Year Award program recognizes prominent achievements and outstanding performers in the pool, spa and hot tub industry. Brian Porter, Vice President of Premier Pools & Spas was among the recipients.

Who is Brian Porter?
Brian Porter began his career in the pool and spa industry in 1997 at ground level. He has now created a 19 year long career path that has catapulted him to the Vice President title he wears today. He has held positions in retail sales, building, design, training and now management of franchisees. Porter runs Premier Pools' University and holds himself personally responsible for the education and training of 160 sales persons that work for Premier Pools and Spas' national franchisees. As a new franchisee, Porter gives extensive training at our “Premier University” – a comprehensive training course in sales and operations. Upon completion, our corporate management team provides on-going personalized support. Porter's magnetic personality and genuine approach must be experienced to be truly appreciated.

Brian Porter's Commitment to the Pool Industry
As the Vice President of Premier Pools & Spas, the largest pool builder, Brian wears many hats. From his commitment to upholding the company's core values (Integrity, Work Ethic, Team Player, Accountability, Quality of Work) to his unparalleled ability to project his passion and determination about the pool and spa industry onto trainees and franchisees, are all reasons why Brian Porter was considered for APSP's Young Professionals of the Year Award.

Porter has been instrumental in the company's significant investment into a Premier Pools & Spas team that manages all aspects of our cutting edge marketing. Premier Pools & Spas focuses on internet marketing and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) as he knows that today's buyers are looking for pool builders on the web.

Brian Porter has been invited to speak at the Atlantic City Pool & Spa show and is volunteering his time for this course. His course will cover small business management growth, profit and loss reconciliation, and website systems management. He has a unique background being a second generation pool builder and speaks from the perspective of being a builder. His objective is to grow the industry and to help offices work on their business while focusing on customers and worrying less about their marketing initiatives and such. In addition, Brian has supported and encouraged several of his offices in becoming APSP members, which is wonderful for their business and reputation.

Community Service
As an ardent supporter of charitable organizations, Brian strongly encourages and participates in the Premier Pools and Spas' offices community service efforts. To name a few: JDRF Juvenile Diabetes Fund, Children's Diabetes Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project, Habitat for Humanity, Shriner's Organization, Guns and Hoses, Saint Francis Assisi Corporate Challenge for Building Fund, Make-A-Wish Foundation, St. Jude's Children's Research, Rich Maurti Cancer Fund, Chelsea King Charity, Little League Teams (Woodcreek, Roseville West and Lincoln, CA) and the Foothill's Girl's Softball Team. The pool and spa industry is able to positively advance when those who reap benefits from the industry give back to those within and outside of the industry, not for reputation sake but to act upon what is in their hearts which is the drive to care for and help others.

Brian Porter's sincere gratitude for recognition as one of APSP's Young Professionals of the Year Award Winners is hard to put into words, however, he had this to say: "I am honored and grateful to have been selected as one of the recipients of the Young Professionals of the Year Award. It is humbling that APSP has selected me for this award among so many other qualified applicants from all over the U.S."
