Arianna Huffington, founder of The Huffington Post, founder and CEO of Thrive Global, and author of 15 books, has been confirmed as the keynote speaker for the 2017 annual conference of WTS International, the association for the professional advancement of women in transportation.

Ms. Huffington's keynote address will be one of many highlights of the annual conference, WTS International's flagship event.

Arianna Huffington, founder of The Huffington Post, founder and CEO of Thrive Global, and author of 15 books, has been confirmed as the keynote speaker for the 2017 annual conference of WTS International, the association for the professional advancement of women in transportation.

Arianna Huffington is one of the most influential women in the world, due to her entrepreneurial spirit and career and life accomplishments, and she exemplifies our association’s guiding principles of diversity, inclusion, and commitment to ethical leadership and integrity,” said Diane Woodend Jones, WTS Board Chair. “We take pride in knowing that we are helping to shape future generations of transportation leaders. Working toward equity and inclusion in the transportation workforce is what drives our members, and Ms. Huffington will certainly propel them further as she addresses them next May in New York.”

Ms. Huffington’s keynote address, which will be sponsored by HDR, a global engineering, architecture, environmental and construction firm, will be one of the many highlights of the Annual Conference, WTS International’s flagship event. It attracts more than 600 corporate and governmental industry leaders worldwide, including executives, CEOs, government administrators, and leading engineering authorities. Attendees at the conference gather to network, discuss the state of the world’s transportation infrastructure, strategize on advancing professionally through glass ceilings, and explore the local city’s successful municipal and private transportation and traffic projects. Arianna Huffington has been named to Time's list of the world’s 100 most influential people and the Forbes Most Powerful Women list. Originally from Greece, she moved to England when she was 16 and graduated from Cambridge University with an M.A. in economics. At 21, she became president of the famed debating society, the Cambridge Union. She also serves on numerous boards, including Uber and The Center for Public Integrity. Her last two books, Thrive: The Third Metric to Redefining Success and Creating a Life of Well-Being, Wisdom, and Wonder and The Sleep Revolution: Transforming Your Life, One Night At A Time, on the science, history and mystery of sleep, both became instant international bestsellers.
