"View the journey to reach that goal weight as a positive experience in which you can begin to feel better right away, long before you lose a single pound."
New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) November 21, 2016
“With the traditional weight-loss model, the sole focus is on the numbers on the scale,” says Chad Matthew Valiant, author of The Casual Diet: Healthy Living is Flawless.
“The diet industry is obsessed with numbers,” Chad continues. “In advertising, on book covers, the entire focus is on losing a specific amount of weight. The conventional message is that you will feel better only after you reach your goal weight. The journey to reach that goal weight is viewed as a miserable experience. This way of thinking is a disservice to millions of people trying to change their lives. I wanted to change that.”
After spending over a decade working for some of the best restaurants in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Chad founded Recipe 300, a health and lifestyle media company. The Casual Diet: Healthy Living is Flawless, is a 1,200 – 1,400 calorie-a-day, twenty-eight-day healthy living meal plan.
“Having a goal weight is certainly important,” Chad continues, “but you have to re-wire your brain if you want to succeed in the long haul. View the journey to reach that goal weight as a positive experience in which you can begin to feel better right away, long before you lose a single pound. The goal weight thus becomes an important piece of the puzzle, but not the sole, defining turning point and focus.”
Chad outlines his steps to help individuals change their way of thinking.
“The first step is to make healthy eating enjoyable. Many people think healthy food is boring, without much flavor. This mindset is one of the biggest obstacles to long-term success, as it often leads to giving up. But with the right ingredients and a little creativity, healthy food can taste amazing.”
Chad used his culinary experience to create the healthy recipes in The Casual Diet: Healthy Living is Flawless.
“For example, a chicken breast can be transformed with something as simple as white cooking wine and a hint of seasoning. A bland, boring chicken breast suddenly becomes something amazing, and yet, still healthy. Creating healthy, delicious recipes is my area of expertise.”
Flawless refers to the emotional and psychological benefits of healthy eating and living.
“If you make healthy food taste delicious, you will want to continue eating healthy food. Eating a healthy diet can give you more energy."
According to Chad, the process can begin to feed upon itself.
“More energy opens the door to spending more quality time with family and friends,” Chad continues. “More quality time with family and friends can further improve your mood. The entire experience becomes a domino effect, with one benefit opening the door to another. Reaching your goal weight becomes just one door that’s opened in this experience, but not the entire focus. That’s the positive message that I wanted to convey."
