IFlyFirstClass today announced its picks for the top 5 winter destination for the 2016/2017 season. Whether travelers are seeking an escape from the frigid temperatures of winter or looking for a snow-filled holiday, IFlyFirstClass’ destinations satisfy.

“Travelers today have thousands of excellent choices when it comes to wintertime travels,” says Julia Graft, public relations director for IFlyFirstClass. “Discounted business class tickets and first class deals are readily available, and interesting cities around the world continue to add new and exciting attractions. The annual list of top winter destinations is just one way we can help discerning travelers find destinations that suit their needs.”

Topping this year’s list is the popular Australian city of Adelaide, A Southern Hemisphere holiday is the perfect respite from winter’s typical freezing temperatures. December to March is summertime in Adelaide, and travelers can expect balmy temps from 62 F to 85 F. That’s warm enough for short sleeves but not oppressively hot. Adelaide has more than its weather going for it though. It’s also a fun-filled, cosmopolitan city with hotels and resorts to suit every budget level. The city’s fine and performing arts selections are particularly astute in March when Adelaide hosts its legendary Adelaide Festival. As a coastal city with the adventure-laden River Torrens running through it, Adelaide is also a popular site for recreationists.

For luxury-lovers, IFFC names Abu Dhabi to its winter travel list. Travel to this gleaming city is already convenient with the region’s second largest airport nearby. Abu Dhabi Airport will also open its newest Midfield passenger terminal in 2017, making travel through the airport even easier. Once travelers are in the city, they can expect abundant options for high-end hotels, designer boutiques and plentiful fine dining. The city’s attractions are equally sumptuous, from desert safaris and Al Ain Palace Museum to Wadi Adventures and Yas Waterworld.

Sun-seekers who want to stay within North America have many options for warm destinations in the southern United States. San Diego is one of the best of these southern U.S. cities, offering temperate days, mostly sunny skies and countless attractions and activities. Visitors can spend days playing on San Diego’s many beaches or exploring world-class Balboa Park. The city also has an interesting Old Town, Spanish Mission, naval carrier museum and a renowned zoo. Winter is the prime time to see gray whales, so a whale watching or sunset cruise is always a good idea this time of year.

For a different ski experience, IFlyFirstClass recommends trying out Hokkaido, Japan. Hokkaido’s northern position makes it the best locale to find soft, dry powder for skiing, boarding and playing. The region is also filled with superb resorts, some popular, bustling centers for international skiers. Other resorts in the region are a bit more remote and intimate. The island also has excellent cities like Sapporo and Asahikawa and hot springs resorts in Noboribetsu and Jozankei Onsen. Sapporo is also known for its cherry blossoms, so travelers with plenty of time to spare can stretch their holidays to include the April blossom displays.

For much of the western world, winter is a time to celebrate Christmas, and it’s impossible to ignore the abundant appeal of Europe’s many Christmas markets. Even those who don’t observe Christmas enjoy these winter festivals. There are dozens of superb markets in Europe, Oceania and North America, but Salzburg is perennially one of the best. The city’s famous market begins in November and runs through December each year, offering bountiful food, drink and revelry. Serene processions, rousing chorales, craft-filled markets and children’s activities are just a few of the event’s attractions. Visitors can watch the naughty antics of Krampus, visit St. Nicholas, warm up with a mulled wine drink and sample dozens of Christmas pastries and cookies.

For many of these five destinations, IFlyFirstClass offers deeply discounted deals on first class, business class and last minute flights. For more information, contact IFlyFirstClass at 888 347 7817.
