American Cruise Lines Receives Prestigious Travel Industry Awards

American Cruise Lines, the largest U.S. cruise company, is pleased to announce it has received several prestigious travel industry awards including: Travel Weekly’s 2016 Gold and Silver Magellan Awards, a 2016 Cruise Critic® US Editor’s Pick Award, and was named North America’s Leading River Cruise Company by the World Travel Awards. Judged by a panel of top travel industry professionals, these premier awards honor a high standard of excellence within the travel industry and celebrate the best cruise ships and lines worldwide.

Judged by a panel of top travel industry professionals, these premier awards honor a high standard of excellence within the travel industry and celebrate the best cruise ships and lines worldwide.

The 2016 Gold Magellan Award was received for the Queen of the Mississippi in the River Cruise Ship Category. Launched in 2015, Queen of the Mississippi is an authentic paddlewheeler with modern amenities including the largest staterooms in the industry, hotel-style bathrooms, and private balconies. In addition to receiving the highest award for this state-of-the-art riverboat, American Cruise Lines also received the 2016 Silver Magellan Award for Best River Cruising in the River Cruising Category.

Other awards received include, North America’s Leading River Cruise Company by World Travel Awards and the 2016 Cruise Critic® US Editor’s Pick Award for Best Enrichment. Judges were impressed with the line’s engaging onboard speakers and historians whose programs enhance guided onshore excursions and offer context to the passing scenery.

In addition to the recent industry recognition, American Cruise Lines was also a finalist in the Small Ship and River Cruise categories for the Conde Nast Readers’ Choice Awards and has been nominated for several other prestigious awards, including Best Small Ship Cruising and Best River Cruising in the World by World Travel Awards, and Best River Cruise Lines in the 2017 Travvy Awards.
