Gilbane Building Company, a national leader in the construction of college and university projects, is pleased to announce that Eric Beattie has been named to lead its Higher Education Center of Excellence (COE). The COE includes multiple internal experts from around the country who bring the institutional knowledge, lessons learned and best practices from a diverse portfolio of higher education projects.
In this role, Eric will provide both internal and external support to our project teams, industry professionals and clients. He will guide the strategic direction of Gilbane in support of the continued expansion of its resume in the higher education market segment.
Eric brings more than 28 years of higher education industry experience, most recently serving as Director of Campus Planning, Design & Construction at Syracuse University. Prior to his tenure at Syracuse, Eric also served as Director of Facilities Planning and Construction at Williams College in Williamstown, MA and as the University Engineer for the Department of Architectural and Engineering Services at the University of Vermont in Burlington, VT. Eric earned a BS in Civil Engineering from University of Vermont and an MBA from University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Vermont, a LEED AP® and is FEMA Incident Management trained.
