Color The World Orange for CRPS/RSD Awareness on Nov. 7

We hope this day will allow all those affected by CRPS/RSD to join together and show the world that while we are in pain, we are strong.

To celebrate the third-annual Color The World Orange™ on Nov. 7, buildings around the world will turn orange to spread awareness of complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), also known as reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD), a debilitating pain disorder.

Held globally on the first Monday of November each year, Color The World Orange™ seeks to bring attention to this poorly understood pain disorder. Supporters will wear orange and host events to spread awareness of CRPS/RSD, as well as raise funds to support research of this condition.

The easiest way to get involved is to wear orange and post a picture to social media with the hashtag: #CRPSORANGEDAY.

Almost 50 buildings, bridges and other structures around the world will be lit orange in support of Color The World Orange™ including the fountains in Trafalgar Square in London and Bank of America Plaza in Dallas. The Niagara Falls Illumination Board will also illuminate Niagara Falls orange for the event.

More than 60 state and local US government officials have granted proclamations recognizing Color The World Orange™ or November as CRPS/RSD Awareness Month.

For the third year in a row, a supporter ran the NYC Marathon in honor of Color The World Orange™ and for the first time a supporter ran the Chicago Marathon in honor of the event.

“Color The World Orange™ was started in 2014 to bring awareness to a debilitating pain condition that too few people know about or understand,” the Color The World Orange™ team said. “We hope this day will allow all those affected by CRPS/RSD to join together and show the world that while we are in pain, we are strong.”
