One year into a strategic partnership, Alliance Enterprises, Inc. (Alliance) and Libera, Inc. (Libera) have realized significant progress toward consolidating onto a common software platform and expanding a suite of professional platinum services. The consolidated platform will better serve the technology and compliance needs of state agency clients. Two-thirds of the nation’s 80 vocational rehabilitation (VR) service agencies currently use either Alliance or Libera software to manage caseloads.
By pursuing partnership over competition, the two market leaders have combined forces to focus on upgrading technology solutions for VR. Specifically, the companies are moving to respond to significant regulatory changes stemming from the Workforce and Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA). They are currently consolidating their joint customers onto a single WIOA-compliant platform - Aware.
“We’ve seen some remarkable progress over the past year, including the kickoff of migration projects in Vermont, Nebraska, Georgia and Massachusetts, to the Aware platform,” said Chris M. Pieper, CEO of Alliance Enterprises. “Everyone is excited about joining the Aware family. With Libera’s additional expertise, we are able to expand our collective software and service options and to be the WIOA provider of choice for our rehabilitation services customers.”
Twenty VR agencies are currently in the process of planning and migrating to the Aware platform. Alliance continues their efforts to enhance the technology platform while Libera continues to strengthen their focus on providing WIOA-compliant professional services, in support of the Aware software, and the VR community at large.
“We see many benefits in Libera and Alliance working together and look forward to our transition to the Aware platform,” said Mike Pemble, Deputy Director, Bureau of Services for Blind Persons, State of Michigan.
Alliance’s Aware solution is the market leader for rehabilitation case management and financial management. The solution has successfully served the VR community since 1995 and is currently used by more than 12,000 rehabilitation service providers across 37 state agencies and 24 tribal nations. When complete, the Alliance-Libera partnership will provide market leading, WIOA-compliant software and support services to 53 VR agencies across the United States.
“The expanded package of software and services this partnership is now providing will significantly improve the day to day operations for all of our customers,” said Stephanie Hobson, CEO of Libera. “The synergies we envisioned with this partnership are happening as our joint clients benefit from Libera and Alliance working together. With a focus on the Aware platform, our host of applications and service offerings bring greater clarity, efficiency and service to the vocational rehabilitation community.”
As a certified Aware services provider, Libera now offers complementary support and service options to state agency counselors who use Aware software. Libera services include an end-user service desk, federal reporting data auditing services, social security reimbursements consulting, data entry, and training services.
Over the past year, Alliance and Libera have successfully aligned their business practices through training and in-depth certification programs that have equipped the Libera staff to serve the needs of the Aware user community. “Libera is a partner that has demonstrated a commitment to the Aware platform and has invested in acquiring experience, staff, training and certifications,” Pieper said. “Alliance is pleased that our Aware community has new options to purchase valuable support services from Libera.”
