We invite all of our travelers to volunteer during their stays, and a significant portion of our guests choose to donate their time, expertise and physical labor to a variety of projects across Africa.

African Travel, Inc.’s recent 2017 brochure launch features an enhanced collection of volunteer travel opportunities, including an all-new Kenya itinerary in partnership with ME to WE. African Travel’s award-winning product is renowned for providing numerous opportunities for guests to invest in Africa’s future , and this altruistic ethos is echoed by ME to WE, an innovative social enterprise empowering people to change the world with their consumer choices.

“World Philanthropy Day is celebrated each November in the spirit of recognizing the significant contributions of the philanthropic community,” said Sherwin Banda, president of African Travel, “and we are proud to include ourselves in that category. We invite all of our travelers to volunteer during their stays, and a significant portion of our guests choose to donate their time, expertise and physical labor to a variety of projects across Africa.”

African Travel’s newest philanthropic offer, “ME to WE Kenya Community Experience,” is an unforgettable community experience in the northern Maasai Mara. Guests are immersed in Kenya’s vibrant culture and landscape on this sustainable and transformative journey, leaving behind a positive impact and taking away a new perspective of the world. Travelers gain a better understanding of daily life during a water walk and visit to the market, a walking tour of a local primary school, and a sunrise hike with Maasai guides. Guests also learn the art of traditional Maasai beading from community mothers and learn how ME to WE’s charity partner and its newest project, the Baraka Health Centre, is enhancing local lives.

Other add-on opportunities for guests to give back to Africa include “Volunteer Southern Africa,” and “Volunteer East Africa,” both one-day excursions meant to broaden horizons and make a difference in the lives of the African people (and the travelers).
