HoverPark, the world’s first and only hoverboard training and racing destination, joined forces with Swagtron, the largest and best known hoverboard manufacturer. Together, these industry pioneers will explore opportunities to deliver unique, fun and memorable hoverboard products and experiences. Swagtron will provide HoverPark world-class products and marketing exposure, while HoverPark will feature and promote Swagtron products via its facility, website and marketing materials.
HoverPark is a new and exciting hoverboard adventure park that provides the safest and most exciting environment to train, race, and have fun with hoverboards. Beginners can get familiar with hovering from the safety of a state-of-the-art, harness-based training system. Experienced hoverers can race against the clock on isolated, timed obstacle courses, while advanced users can experience hovering on ramps and in open areas where they can participate in activities like Hover Hoops. Upon arriving at HoverPark, visitors will immediately notice the one-of-a-kind 20 foot wide hoverboard front desk that is an exact replica of the Swagtron T3 hoverboard, but boasts massive five foot tall tires and likely represents the world’s largest hoverboard.
When planning this facility, HoverPark leadership identified safety as the highest priority. Doing so resulted in taking various precautions, including patiently waiting while hoverboard manufacturers raced to obtain UL 2272 electrical and fire-safety certification, a new safety standard developed specifically for hoverboards. Per UL, this standard “evaluates the safety of the electrical drive train system and battery and charger system combinations, but does NOT evaluate for performance, reliability, or rider safety.” After months of research and development, Swagtron was able to achieve UL 2272 certification. HoverPark management tested Swagtron’s T1 and T3 models in addition to various other UL 2272 approved boards that eventually obtained UL’s stamp of approval.
After testing, HoverPark quickly determined that not all UL 2272 approved hoverboards are created equal; not even close. HoverPark Founder, Brad Garlin, shared, “I was testing out an alternative UL 2272 approved hoverboard when I found myself flat on my back after an untimely malfunction. I was able to recreate the issue, and it is quite alarming and dangerous. We tested our Swagtrons for hundreds of hours and never experienced any type of malfunction. Not only that, but they are incredibly responsive and feel much more sturdy and secure than other models I’ve tested. Swagtron hit the nail on the head with this product. We’re thrilled to be working with such a well known and reputable brand.” HoverPark will open its facility exclusively featuring Swagtron’s UL 2272 approved T3 hoverboards.
This partnership provides valuable benefits to everyone involved. HoverPark gains access to top-of-the-line products and invaluable marketing exposure, Swagtron expands their retail distribution and product exposure, and consumers gain access to safe, proven products, and a fun place where they can be tested and enjoyed. Swagtron’s Jason Wakefield, Director of Marketing, is excited about this new relationship as well, stating that, “We are excited to find a partner that shares mutual interests. HoverPark is redefining how hoverboards can be used and launching a revolutionary new form of entertainment that is exciting, competitive and just plain fun.” Get ready for something new and exciting in Chicagoland.
