Eriksen Translations Inc.
At Eriksen, we are passionate about the art and science of translation. I am honored to have a dedicated, talented team that shares my vision, and we are excited to meet the next 30 years with expertise, creativity, and innovation.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Eriksen Translations Inc. (http://www.eriksen.com), one of North America’s top 40 language services providers. Brooklyn Deputy Borough President Diana Reyna will attend the company’s December 9th anniversary celebration to present Eriksen with a citation of achievement to recognize the Brooklyn-based company on this milestone.

A BROOKLYN COMPANY, COMMITTED TO SERVING NEW YORKERS
In 1986, Vigdis Eriksen founded Eriksen Translations Inc., working out of an artist’s loft in Brooklyn Heights with a handful of dedicated linguists. Still headquartered in the borough three decades later, the company provides language services across print, web, and multimedia to support the education, health care, and social service needs of the local community’s multilingual residents.

WOMAN OWNED AND OPERATED
Eriksen has been certified as a woman-owned business since 2001, and is proud to employ a staff that is 80% female. A long-time supporter of gender equity and opportunities for women-owned businesses, Vigdis was honored as a 2014 International Women’s Entrepreneurial Challenge awardee, served as co-chair of the 2014 Re:Gender (now the International Council for Research on Women) Fire Starter Awards Dinner, and has been an active member of the Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO) since 2003.

A LOCAL BUSINESS WITH A GLOBAL CONSCIOUSNESS
At Eriksen, translators and interpreters are the lifeblood of the company, and Vigdis has a long history supporting the rights of linguists both locally and around the world. She is a founding board member and chair of Red T, a non-profit dedicated to the protection of translators and interpreters worldwide. Eriksen actively supports Red T by providing ongoing pro-bono translation services for the organization’s Conflict Zone Field Guide and open letters.

CELEBRATING A STRONG HISTORY WITH AN EYE TO THE FUTURE
Eriksen’s 30th Anniversary Celebration will be held in the company’s Brooklyn Heights office starting at 6:00 pm on Friday, December 9th. Eriksen’s staff, clients, linguists, and members of the local business community will join Brooklyn Deputy Borough President Diana Reyna to recognize this local, woman-owned business that has spent three decades delivering high-quality language solutions to the world.

“At Eriksen, we are passionate about the art and science of translation,” states Vigdis Eriksen. “I am honored to have a dedicated, talented team that shares my vision, and we are excited to meet the next 30 years with expertise, creativity, and innovation.”
