The staff rostering platform, that is developed by Shopworks (http://www.theshopworks.com), gives companies greater control over its staff management and is expected to improve efficiencies in payroll and shift management.

1Life Chief Finance Officer, Ian Hendrie said: “Before Shopworks, we had very manual systems in multiple leisure centres, each with different rules. We wanted to make sure we paid everyone what we owed them, with zero errors.
“The central view has also allowed us to review all of our rostering, ensuring we cut back on over staffing as well as meeting shortfalls by adding extra staff when demand requires.”

Shopworks provides a versatile rota management platform, which simplifies the process of creating and managing staff schedules.

1Life will also be deploying Shopworks’ innovative biometric time and attendance model to manage third party contractors such as cleaners. It recognises a contractor’s unique physical characteristics to ensure a 100% accurate attendance record, that will ensure they get full value and are not overcharged for hours not worked.

1Life staff can now access their scheduled hours and expected pay at any time, either online or via the company’s new dedicated mobile application. It allows the retailer to message its employees and comes as a free module on their new Shopworks platform.

Lee Bowden, Head of Strategy, Shopworks said: “Our bespoke service can deal with any staff scheduling issues. Despite the significant cost savings that can be achieved through workforce management solutions like Shopworks, it is estimated that 90% of leisure centres are still reliant on outdated paper and spreadsheet based systems.”
