Tulsa, OK (PRWEB) May 01, 2017
The Tony Award® winning production company, Square 1 Theatrics, has joined forces with the executive committee of MisFEST to produce the upcoming all female-led music festival, MisFEST. The event will showcase the impressive musical talents of Oklahoma women artists. The line-up features Branjae, Fiawna Forte´, KALO, Casii Stephan, Annie Oakley, Vagittarius, and Rachel La Vonne.
The festival—its theme is “Music Is She and She is Music”—will take place on Saturday, May 13, at River West Festival Park. 100 percent of proceeds from the music festival will support the vital community work of the Tulsa YWCA and the River Parks Authority. The YWCA is presenting a Songwriter’s brunch on-site before the gates open that will highlight Adrienne Gilley, Chloe Johns, Erin O’Dowd, and Kalyn Fay Bornoski.
Ryan Jude Tanner, co-founder of Square 1 is excited to be a part of this first-ever event. He and partner, Jay Krottinger, have built an international reputation for their award-winning production work. They currently have two shows running on Broadway, Tony-nominated Waitress and Come From Away, which opened to rave reviews in late March. The show is currently selling to sold out performances. “So much of our work takes us away from Tulsa,” Tanner explained, “but this festival really allows us to be part of the vibrant community we love. There is so much talent in this city and River West Festival Park provides a world-class venue to showcase and support it. We want people to experience that first-hand and think of Tulsa first as a destination for outstanding events like MisFEST.” Square 1 made Broadway history in 2016 with its female-led creative team of the Tony nominated Waitress by Sara Bareilles.
Advanced Tickets are $20 (General Admission), $35 (Brunch and General Admission), $50 (VIP), and $75 (Everything Pass: Brunch + VIP + parking) and are available locally at Fair Fellow Coffee and Ida Red or on-line at http://www.misfest.com.
